YES. HE IS STILL AT IT

EVERY NIGHT Asim K., the troll-like MATH TUTOR, scuttles down from his third floor walk-up and carefully tapes his crappy signs to the 72nd Street bus shelters

That's the bus shelter on the corner of 72nd and York...

And going downtown, the OTHER bus shelter on the corner of 72nd and York Avenue...

Asim can not seem to get work. Body odor? Incompetence? Whatever the problem, he will persist in putting up these signs, always AFTER 5pm on Weeknights and ON WEEKENDS until he is fined often enough to make it financially impossible to keep it up.

This blog could post a fresh photo every day, and tape a newspaper front page to show you it's yet another evening of work for Aram. But IS that necessary? IS that the way it should be in this city?

July 19th's phone call to 311 yielded the usual response: within 4-7 days, somebody may look at the bus shelter, perhaps at the right time of the evening or on the weekend, and maybe see the sign, and maybe take it down. And maybe issue a fine?
