Stinky Rose Keeps Stinking - Mrs. Day won't GO AWAY

Between 77th and 78th, between 1st and 3rd Avenue, con-artist "psychics" continue to use CITY PROPERTY for FREE ADS.

The most offensive right now is Stinky Mary, who lives in a crappy walk-up apartment around the corner from 1500 Second Avenue, where she keeps chaining THIS: 

Constant complaints to Sanitation get "we didn't see a sign." The 19th Precinct: "It's not our job." Our elected officials: "We will reach out to see what can be done." Duhhhhh. 

Not too far away is the craven gnome calling herself "Mrs. Day." Her A-frame is on 77th and 3rd: 

The good news is that young Dirty Mary has, at least temporarily, stopped chaining A-frames to posts on 78th and 1st and 78th and York. She apparently took warnings or a fine seriously.   

These days she simply pesters passersby with her lame, "I'm a psychic" routine, standing in front of Dresner's or the Post Office, handing out cards.  Call up 911 and they say "don't bother US." Call up the 19th Precinct and say there's somebody handing out leaflets and any passing squad car can catch her, and it's "Yeah. We'll take appropriate action." Nothing.

When someone has chained an A-Frame sign over...and over...and over...what will make her stop?

The answer isn't "Please remove your sign." 

That's what Sanitation told Stinky Rose on October 11th when, yet again, she was caught chaining it to a No Parking post on 78th and 2nd, at 1500 Second Avenue.

She replied, "I can't right now. There's something wrong with the lock." And that was good enough!? No fine? Does Sanitation keep record of how many times this woman has been reported?

You know STINKY ROSE. Below is yet another example of her stink. She loves to chain an A-Frame sign opposite 1500 2nd Avenue.

Yes, a few days ago, SANITATION (Supervisor Catalano AND Supervisor Smith) called up Stinky Rose and told her to STOP chaining her ILLEGAL A-Frame signs.

They actually waited for her to come and unlock the thick, impenetrable lock, and remove the thick chains, and TAKE THE A-FRAME AWAY.

Did she listen? No. Friday, September 19th, and it's ba-a-a-a-a-ack.

Just to be spiteful, Stinky Rose has also begun to pepper the neighborhood with paper signs that she tapes to bus shelters, traffic signal boxes and lamp posts:

STINKY ROSE does it. NOBODY ELSE does it. That's what amoral "psychics" do. They do what nobody else in the neighborhood does, and they get away with it. 

Where's the Better Business Bureau? Where's the I.R.S. to investigate this all-cash business?

Where's Mayor DeBlasio to outlaw these con artist "psychic" hustlers?

The other day, Sanitation/D.O.T./Police removed Stinky Rose's perpetual, selfish eyesore A-Frame in front of 1500 2nd Avenue.

What did she do? Of course. She scrounged another A-Frame, with a beaten-up metal sign for her hokey-gypsy antics.

Somebody pulled the ad off the back of the sign so she taped a paper sign on it:

When this picture was taken, someone inside 1500 Second Avenue came out to make sure that no harm was being done to the sign. Are they in collusion with her?  

UPDATE: September 16, Tuesday, Sanitation called up Stinky Rose and told her to REMOVE THE SIGN. She did. And put it back a day or two later. And, UPDATE December 2015: she stopped chaining the sign in front of the hair salon. Now she does it in front of the bank, just a little ways down the block.

"Dirty Mary"  and her husband managed to turn away a summons by claiming that their giant sign near 433 East 78th is "legal."

Why wasn't it taken down YESTERDAY? Somebody from Sanitation said, "Sorry, I can't do anything. I was told the sign is legal." By who? "By the people who put up the sign." 

Yes, believe it or not, some fool in Sanitation gave "it's legal" as an excuse. Just when you thought it was frustrating enough to hear, "Sorry, we didn't see the sign" or "Sorry, we can't send anyone over, we're short-staffed," here's somebody who saw the sign and was talked out of doing ANYTHING about it. 

A city employee doesn't know CITY LAW. If you check the Sanitation Regulations Manual, which this FOOL wouldn't do, it's in there: SIDEWALK OBSTRUCTION is NOT LEGAL:

Thursday afternoon, July 17th, and she's still at it:

She's chained TWO signs like this to the light poles on York and on 1st Avenue. That's not enough! 

Now she has a free-standing sign on the curb near 433 East 78th, right near the basement grotto where she squats and waits to cheat people with her "psychic" con games.

This witch is a sociopath with no respect for the neighborhood. 

Where's that "community affairs" officer from the 19th Precinct, the one who is supposed to monitor "neighborhood" problems and be an ombudsman? He never answers the phone. 

All he seems to do is show up at the monthly 79th Street Block Association meeting, and read bicycle theft stats to Betty Wallerstein and then wave and say "I can't stay, good bye."

Go to 1500 2nd Avenue. You'll notice a very expensive shoe store on the corner. You'll also notice, chained to a pole, this crappy A-frame sign, which is white on one side and green on the other:

The shoe store could chain a sign to that pole, but doesn't. Neither do the other stores on the block. They pay taxes. They pay high rents. STILL they don't do it.

Some con artist hiding out in a nearby apartment, doing a cash-only business, and trying to cheat people out of their life savings with carny tricks...SHE  is allowed to chain up these signs.

What's the excuse, Department of Transportation, Department of Sanitation, and 19th Precinct. WHAT IS THE EXCUSE?

The problem with the crooked PSYCHIC con artists...these sociopaths who keep chaining A-frame signs and putting giant blockade signs on curbs...is that others think it's legal and they do it, too.

On 78th Street "Dirty Mary" plays her games between York and 1st, and "Stinky Rose" does it on the corner  of 2nd Avenue near the shoe store. SO...a "massage" therapist figured to also get FREE AD SPACE from the city:   

JULY 15th...and a bicycle rack (or whatever it is) becomes FREE AD SPACE.  Meanwhile the city wants companies to pay for ads on bus shelters? The city is losing THOUSANDS of dollars and making streets UGLY...and this discourages business from paying for what others get free.

Giuliani believed strongly in the "broken windows" theory. There's pride in a nice clean neighborhood without broken windows, graffiti, or con job signs taped to bus shelters and A-frame signs chained to the curbs.

Who is letting SCOFFLAWS make the city sleazy? Call 311 and spend an hour trying to explain what you're reporting...only to find the sign up day after day anyway. 

1095 Lexington and 1100 Lexington - PSYCHIC FREE AD SPACE

Every day, commuters entering or leaving the 77th Street Lex subway station see these illegal signs chained to poles. The signs are, as always, for bogus TAROT readings and palm reading and other nonsense.

NOBODY ELSE abuses city property like this. It's always these gypsies. 

Butterfield's pays huge rent and so does The Smoke Shop. THEY don't put A-frame signs in front of their stores. But this "TAROT READER" does. 

The pig doubles down...putting up TWO signs, one at 1100 Lexington...that's the downtown side of the 77th Street subway station and ALSO 1095 Lexington to get uptown traffic.

Maybe the D.O.T. would like to clip the chain on this, and stop letting a "TAROT CARD" reading fraud make money as if the traffic light is being sponsored by the city?

This creepy chick with the scrawny body and beak-like nose scuttles out of her basement hole and hands out cards on the corner of York and 79th.

She's chained signs to the corners of 78th and 1st and 78th and York. She's got this extra sign now, AND...if she hasn't made enough of an eyesore, there's a huge one on the gate leading down to her smelly grotto at 433 East 78th.

BAJOUR! Gypsies cheat people and block the sidewalk with their chained up signs. 

They turn an introductory $10 reading into a "bajour," expertly using con-artist games to swindle fools. The fools think that these con artists must be legal and sanctioned if they have signs chained to CITY PROPERTY. 

In other words, the CITY is a partner in the scam. By not cutting the chain on signs, the MAYOR makes it seem like he endorses Dirty Mary and her bunch. "Readings by Mary" must be trustworthy, just like you can trust the Better Business Bureau to make sure the mattress you buy isn't stuffed with so much cat hair you lie on it and your back arches.

January 2nd, and he was crawling around from 79th to 76th Street taping up his signs, waiting to get his hands on young children.

January 6th, Monday, closer to his rat's nest apartment on 72nd, he scuttled over to 1st Avenue and hit Bus Shelter 1156 (72nd Street, 1st Avenue heading west) and Bus Shelter 0068 (72nd Street and 1st Avenue, heading uptown).
