Year after year, he waddles over to the corner of 1st and 75th, like he OWNS the lamp post, and chains an A-frame to it. Then he pesters people with fliers, shoving them at everyone until he runs out of them.
The PONY BAR is on the corner. What's the idea, that drunks will see the sign, and being impaired, will be dopey enough to use their cellphones, call for the location, and stagger in? The carny trick is to parlay a $5 palm reading into a $50 sting.
Maybe some superstitious immigrant can be taken for every cent. Maybe some little old lady can be conned into giving up her life savings.
Nice one, SANITATION, and POLICE. Just tell him "no" and he does it again the following day. No fine? Don't confiscate the sign?
Why not ask the IRS to check into this all-cash "business?"
These garish, ugly A-frames also cause problems for those in wheelchairs trying to navigate these nuisance signs. Kids are being hurt as they run by and get cut and bruised by them.
There are many good reasons why A-Frame signs are NOT allowed to be chained like this. Sociopaths ignore public safety and prey on the public instead.
