Sociopath Scofflaw "Math Tutor" has Crazy Sunday

He's supposed to be a "teacher."

He's supposed to be educated, a role model, and an asset to the community.

Instead, Asim K. is a scofflaw, a sociopath, a selfish sicko who spent all day Sunday, August 26th, taping illegal signs to bus shelters.

He has a real need to get some child into his third-floor walk-up on 430 East 72nd Street.

Badly.

So day after day. Week after week. Month after month. When it's after 5pm...he scuttles out and does his dirty work.

Dirties the neighborhood. Makes it ugly and cheap. Spits at the people who pay good money to have their legit ads on bus shelters. Doesn't care about anything but his own desires.

It's one thing for somebody to declare himself a guitar teacher, and put up a sign in a bodega or newsstand wall with the permission of the owner. It's another for somebody to declare himself a "math tutor," go after children, and use public property to do it.

It doesn't look like this man has been fined enough. It doesn't look as though he's had a police officer in uniform come to his door and tell him about the laws of this city. Has Sanitation or Transportation called the number on that sign? The message should be, "Aram, "Math Tutor," it's NO. NO ILLEGAL POSTERIZING. Not after 5pm on weekdays. Not on weekends. NEVER.

This very, savvy "PSYCHIC" is all over the Internet with coupon offers, Yellow Pages listings, every possible way to reach the gullible. Including illegal signs.

Some ads call her "Lana" some call her "Nickie," but how about a check of police records? What do they call her?

The Witch & the Goat : SCOFF SCOFFING AGAIN

What a surprise. It's another weekend, it's after 5pm...and what do we see? Why, it's the Witch of 73rd Street posting her conjob "Psychic" sign again. And yes, it's the old goat "Math Tutor," stubbornly doing the same. SCOFF! SCOFF! "THIS IS MY SIGN!" says the husband of the PSYCHIC witch. "MY PROPERTY!" To put anywhere he likes, as long as it's after 5pm and on weekends. Does he know the law? Sure he does. Does he scoff at it? Sure he does!

The bus drivers could take down that sign. Or report it. Then the Dept. of Transportation could issue a fine to ASIM K., the "MATH TUTOR." Out of a sense of "fairness" unknown to this wretch, and which might result in some bodily harm to him by some public spirited citizen who has even less regard for law than he does, his full name won't be printed here.

But right now, anyone who tells him what he does is illegal, gets a growl of "WHO AHHHH YOU? WHO AHHHHH YOU?"

Let con artists and low-life "tutors" who are un-hirable by the city, do as they please? Use valuable real estate space that is at a premium for their petty criminal activity?

What do the city agencies do in cases like this? They issue warnings? That might stop some, but not a NYC SCOFFLAW.

"We can tell them not to do this," government officials say. And yes, government officials have definitely called the "PSYCHIC," and what's happened? SCOFF, SCOFF, SCOFF

"We can tell them to remove the sign."

And how does that impact on their SCOFFING? How about fines? Larger fines each time?

The pictures above were taken at 5:30 pm on Saturday afternoon. SCOFF, SCOFF. "MATH TUTOR" and "PSYCHIC" spit on city rules and regulations, spit on their neighbors. And keep right on doing as they please.

SCOFFING ALL WEEKEND: THE PSYCHIC LAUGHS AGAIN

A city government agency LITERALLY CALLED the number on the Psychic's sign and said "What you are doing is ILLEGAL. You can NOT CHAIN SIGNS TO PUBLIC PROPERTY."

What happened this weekend?

On August 18th, the PSYCHIC chained the sign to the corner of 73rd and York. You can see the OUR TOWN newspaper as proof of the date.

All day Saturday, the sign was up, because the PSYCHIC has divine powers, and knows that nobody from Sanitation or the 19th Precinct is going to do anything about anything on a weekend, or after 5pm.

PS, just down the block, our ugly little "MATH TUTOR" once again taped HIS illegal sign to the bus shelter. He's the one who shouts, "Who are YOU!!!" when people tell him he shouldn't be doing this. It seems he might only respond if someone in uniform is there to catch him putting up the sign. Or, comes to his apartment? Or calls him up?

Another Scofflaw watcher says there was another sign (on pink paper) taped to the Bus Shelter on the downtown side of York, at 86th. Do we need a picture of that? Would it matter? Will the city start to allow photo documentation, or some kind of "notary public" to confirm a violation without the Sanitation Department having to drive by two days after the sign's been pulled down, and do nothing?

SUNDAY...

Aram took the day off, but the PSYCHIC switched locations on 73rd, from York back to First Avenue, putting the sign up after 5pm this time. Might be because the PSYCHIC decided to take the day off. Entitled to it, you know. Runs a cash business. Has some extra money to shop with on a lovely Sunday. HERE IS THE SIGN. The trucking company would confirm the date and time that truck was parked in front of Bareburger.

A closer look?

"MATH TUTOR" and "PSYCHIC" are deliberate, perpetual, continual, habitual SCOFFLAWS. The more they get away with it, the more signs will be put up by others as well, turning the most civilized part of the city into a slummy-looking, oppressive dump. Mayor Giuliani knew all about "quality of life" and how graffiti and ugly illegal signs degenerate a neighborhood.

Scofflaws Who Own GARBAGE APARTMENTS

Manhattan has a housing shortage.

There are brokers fighting each other to get their hands on apartments they can rent or sell. You'd have to own a pretty crappy building to regularly resort to scofflaw signs on lamp posts.

Yes, these signs are regularly placed on Sundays. It seems the crap building involved is such a dump, tenants foolish enough to sign a lease DO NOT RENEW.

So the pin-head dirtbag landlord, or perhaps his grimy stinking super, seems to have to put up these signs EVERY OTHER WEEK

Even though there are plenty of walk-up apartments in the neighborhood, THIS dump is the only one that gets the scofflaw sign treatment.

Usually tenants leave a walk-up because the back fire escapes are easy for thieves, or the front door is always broken, or the place is full of cockroaches and you're lucky if you get water running.

Why reward a scumbag landlord by allowing him to put up these signs...

What stops SCOFFLAWS? For one thing, EFFICIENT ENFORCEMENT

The city shouldn't just rely on 311 calls (which few make because the average complaint of this type takes 20 minutes). Someone should be regularly patrolling, seeing these signs and issuing fines.

Weekends should not be "free posting" days.

Photographic evidence should be allowed. People should be able to upload their pictures as evidence, any time they make a complaint via the NYC.GOV website

Yes, you can look below and find a post, several weeks old, that mentioned how a city official LITERALLY CALLED UP the WITCH OF 73RD STREET about the illegal signs chained to city property. CALLED UP and told her it was illegal and she could be fined. What does she do? Waits a week, and SCOFFS SOME MORE. Sneaky? No, the SCOFFLAW dares anyone to do anything. It's the weekend, nobody's around, right? So chain up the sign from noon till 7 or 8pm on Saturday and Sunday. Keep scoffing.
Here it is, weekend of August 4th-5th, and in broad daylight, from noon onward, the sign is chained, blocking the sidewalk, and illegally bringing cash (hello, Internal Revenue Service!) into the pocket of a conjob "psychic." You'll note the Olympic front page of the weekend paper, proving when the pictures were taken.

What do you do with a SCOFF-SCOFF-SCOFF habitual trouble-making lowlife like this?

How about 311 patching a call directly to the 19th Precinct (they're open on weekends) so an office can drive by and...
